The Zipper Jacket
The Zipper Jacket
Part of why I started designing clothing was that I've always wanted to be able to wear something that expressed my favorite elements of historical and fantasy clothing while being versatile, comfortable and pragmatic enough for autonomous urban life.
The the lines of the zippers draw on the timeless aesthetics of corsetry, while structurally they keep this jacket feeling sleekly fitted, flexible and adjustable.
The high collar keeps the wind out, and the tapered elven and Pre-Raphaelite-inspired sleeves are fitted close to the wrists to keep the pulse points warm when you need it, and zip open when you need to cool down.
The back has a double panel of fabric over the kidneys to keep you warm, while following the elegant lines designed specifically to enhance all the best traits we love about our bodies.
Best of all, there are two zipper pockets so you can leave your purse at home and carry your keys, cards and cash on you without looking like you're carrying anything at all. The zip pockets let you feel confidant that your valuables will stay safely where you put them without detracting from the svelte fit.
The ball-zipper pulls have a lovely weight to them that keeps them moving with you, drawing attention to all those elegant corset lines.
The fabric is durable and keeps its stretch over many washes and years without fading or pilling. The top stitching is done with thick, durable thread that allows for stretch and flexibility.
I've poured over the patterning of this piece to ensure the best fit that is elegantly-flattering to all sizes. This will become one of your favorite pieces you will be able to wear all over the world for all types of company and occasions.
